Processes to Break the Patterns

The project addresses the need for better social inclusion and advocacy actions of the parents of people with disabilities in Veliko Tarnovo District. The project aims at training the parents of children with disabilities to voice and advocate for their problems. First, an awareness raising meeting will be held with the parents. Second, the parents of children with disabilities will attend a 36-hour training to improve their skills to take care and communicate with their children. Third, 28 parents will have a 1-day advocacy training. Next, an advocacy campaign will be held to support people with disabilities on the labour market and in education. Finally, the project outcomes will be presented at a round table with the stakeholders. The project will benefit the parents of children with disabilities, their children and the local community in general.
