Revival and preservation of traditional building techniques and skills used in Bulgaria

The purpose of the Project is the preservation of traditional construction methods through construction and operation of the Educational Training and Exhibition centre in Vitosha Nature Park, with the overall objective of revival and preservation of traditional building techniques in Bulgaria, as part of European cultural heritage. Reference is made to the application, dated 23 April 2008, and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Studies and research on traditional building techniques in Bulgaria; - Transfer of knowledge and best practices between Bulgaria and Norway; - Finalisation of technical design and construction of the Educational Training and Exhibition Centre (ETE); - Trainings/workshops in traditional building techniques; - Publicity, documentation and promotional activities; - Project management; The Project Promoter is the Vitosha Nature Park Directorate. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with Norwegian Crafts Development (NHU). The Focal Point shall ensure that at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost are provided from the Bulgarian state budget.
