Development of creativity, constructive skills and social competency of children under school age by means of reconstruction and modernization of the open areas of 12 kindergartens on the territory of town of Plovdiv

The purpose of the Project is to increase creativity and social competencies among nursery school children through the renovation of 12 playgrounds, with the overall objective to improve the health status of children under school age in Plovdiv Municipality. Reference is made to the application dated 24 April 2008, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Renovation and reconstruction of the playgrounds of the following kindergartens: Lyulyak, Radost, Valentina, Osmi Mart, Edelvays, Kremena, Rositsa, Svetla, Maritsa, Daga, Margarita, and Bilyana 2. A round table meeting on the topic ‘Care for the children under school age: current situation and need of reform’, as well as a seminar 'Methodology for developing creativity, playing and social competence of the children'. 3. Creation of a model of development of the basic skills of preschool children. 4. Creation of a Centre for Diagnostics. 5. Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Municipality of Plovdiv. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Pedagogic Faculty of the University of Plovdiv "Paisii Hilendarski". The Focal Point shall ensure that the Bulgarian state budget provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible cost.
