We’re live! The EEA and Norway Grants in Poland have a new website.
Poland – first to go live
All 15 countries benefiting from these grants will run their websites in the same environment.
Poland was the first to launch the new webiste because it was the first to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on April 23, 2025. According to the regulations for the EEA and Norway Grants, countries have 6 months to launch the website from the date the memorandum is signed. Other countries will join successively.
It can therefore be said that our country will be testing the new solution. Next will be Estonia, which signed its memorandum on May 26, 2025.
Why the website changed
Firstly, because the aforementioned regulations require it. The Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, which represents Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway (i.e., the Donor States), has prepared a system of websites and a mechanism for managing them. In short, we call this a "multisite," which simply means a network of websites.
Secondly, because various countries have so far used different systems. The websites were inconsistent, which could make it difficult to find information, and certainly did not favour building recognition of the EEA and Norway Grants brand. Moreover, one system allows the Financial Mechanism Office to collect and aggregate statistics from all countries.
Thirdly, because the existing website of the EEA and Norway Grants in Poland was created many years ago, similarly to some websites in other countries. During this time, the rules for designing websites have changed. Content management systems (CMS) and technical capabilities have also evolved. For example, the new website is integrated with the EEA and Norway Grants IT system – Grace – and allows data to be retrieved directly from this system.
What this means for the user
Let's start paradoxically. For those seeking information about the EEA and Norway Grants, one thing will not change – the website was, is, and will be the most current and most reliable source of information about the grants.
However, its appearance and comfort of use will change. The website is simple, intuitive, and built in accordance with the latest design trends. It is also run in two languages – Polish and English.
You can also access it by typing the existing address eog.gov.pl.
The programme operators will create their websites in the same environment.
