Modernisation and reconstruction of refuge house for mothers with children in misery Red Cross House

The purpose of the Project is the modernisation and renovation of a refuge home for poor, single parents, and the further development of a multipurpose centre for social services, with the overall objective of improving social service capacity for socially marginalised persons. Reference is made to the application dated 20 March 2006, and to correspondence with the Focal Point dated 23 February 2007, 13 March 2007 and 21 May 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - demolition works; - reconstruction works to modernise and renovate the sky-parlour area of the building, including window and roof replacement, to create 14 rooms for disadvantaged persons as well as common spaces, spaces for social services, etc.; - purchase of vehicle for meals and materials/goods delivery; - equipment and furnishing; and - publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the Slovak Red Cross, regional association Snina. The Focal Point shall ensure that the State budget of the Slovak Republic will provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
