The purpose of the Project is the refurbishing and equipping of the Slovak Mining Museum for preservation and display of museum collections, with the overall objective of protecting the Slovak Mining Museum collection and making it accessible to the public. Reference is made to the application dated 22 March 2006, and to correspondence with the Focal Point dated 19 February 2007, 23 May 2007, and 29 May 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - establishment and equipping of a workshop for the restoration and preservation of old prints, paper and art objects; - minor construction works and technical equipping of depositories and exhibits, including air conditioning units, dehumidifiers, anti UV protection on windows, security alarm, shelving, etc.; and - restoration and conservation works to stone elements (Lapidarium), paintings and wooden exhibits. The Project Promoter is Slovak Mining Museum. The Focal Point shall ensure that the State budget of the Slovak Republic will provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
