The purpose of the Project is to improve the technical condition of the Marriage Palace in Bytca to facilitate its usage for cultural and formal purposes, with the overall objective of preserving an object of national cultural heritage and enhancing the social and economic development of the Žilina region. Reference is made to the application dated 20 March 2006, and to correspondence with the Focal Point dated 26 February 2007, 22 May 2007, and 2 July 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - renovation of the flooring; - ground works/improvement of the drainage and the foundation; - replacement of the roof; - works to exterior and interior: replacement of windows and doors; and - various restoration works to historic elements, including restoration of crown mouldings, coat of arms, and frescos on the façade. The Project Promoter is Žilina self-governing region. The Focal Point shall ensure that the State budget of the Slovak Republic will provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
