Welfare Promotion Centres for Children and Adults in Timis and Iasi counties

The purpose of the Project is to open and operate centres delivering integrated services in Timis and Iasi counties, with the overall objective of improving the health status of children and adolescents in Western and North-eastern Romania through actions addressing the main health issues related to child and adolescent health. Reference is made to the application dated 11 June 2008, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Preparatory activities. 2. Acquisition of a building in Timis county in line with the pre-defined conditions. 3. Acquistion of a building in Iasi county in line with the pre-defined conditions. 4. Active screening for families at risk. 5. Direct services (care, training, support) for mother and child (pregnancy to early childhood) and to children and families at risk. 6. Indirect services (education, publicity) for children and families at risk, and also for adolescents and community members. 7. Project management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Bethany Social Services Foundation. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Local Directorate for Child Protection Department of Iasi county. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 10.57 percent of the total eligible Project costs.
