Prevention and Early Detection of Breast, Genital and Lung Cancer

The purpose of the Project is to create and run a health centre of excellence specialised in the early diagnostics of breast, genital and lung cancer at the Renasterea Foundation in Bucharest, with the overall objective of improving the health service provision in the field of early cancer diagnosis and reduce morbidity due to cancer in Romania. Reference is made to the application dated 11 June 2008, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - set up the health care centre including the purchase and adaptation of the building to host the centre, located at Navodari Street, nr 20-26 A, sector I, Bucharest; - purchase and installation of medical equipment; - provision of training for the medical staff; - provision of health care services in the created centre and the mobile unit; - awareness raising activities / dissemination of information / media campaign and research work on the obtained results; - management and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Fundatia Renasterea pentru Educatie, Sanatate si Cultura (Renasterea Foundation for Education, Health and Culture). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15,61 percent of the total estimated eligible Project costs.
