The purpose of the Project is the renovation and recovery of Schist buildings in 14 villages as well as the preservation and further development of wood and Schist techniques, with the overall objective of preserving immovable cultural heritage and contributing to the economic and social development of the region. Reference is made to the application, dated 10 May 2006, and to correspondence with the Focal Point dated 19 December 2006. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - recovery of 46 Schist buildings; - technical and scientific publications; - on-site training sessions for craftsmen; - development of a best practice manual; - organisation of symposiums and workshops on the techniques; and - publicity activities. The Project Promoter is Pinus Verde. The Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Røros Museum, Norway. The partner will primarily be involved in the Project workshops, and will participate in the Project as per the signed partnership agreement.
