The purpose of the Project is to improve competence on the EU financial directives for employees of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, insurance undertakings and the Ministry of Finance, with the overall objective of strengthening the administrative and institutional capacities of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority in order to enhance supervision and increase security and stability in the financial market. Reference is made to the application dated 9 April 2008 and any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: 1. Training courses for employees of the Polish Financial Authority and Ministry of Finance in supervision of various EU Directives and Regulations; 2. Training courses for employees of the Polish Financial Authority in risk supervision in insurance in line with the Draft Directive Solvency II; 3. Training courses for insurance undertakings in Acquis implementation in line with the Draft Directive Solvency II; 4. Evaluation study of financial intermediaries in EU countries and 5. Project management, tendering and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter shall provide at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible project cost.
