The purpose of the Project is to create open access recreation zones and implement a comprehensive programme for the promotion of health care and education among children and youth in the Wejherowo County, with the overall objective of improving health and child care among children and youth in the Pomerania region. Reference is made to the application dated 12 May 2006, and additional information received from the Focal Point, dated 19 September 2006 and 6 February 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - creation of 10 open access recreational zones (including nine multifunctional sports fields for a wide variety of sports activities, two tennis courts, two handball and volleyball fields, one multifunctional field, one grass field, five running tracks, seven long-jump take-off boards, one paddock and ten recreational grounds); - implementation of the County Programme for the Promotion of Health, Care and Education (the organisation of 1,200 extracurricular sports and recreational activities under the supervision of caregivers, such as teachers and medically trained staff); - purchase of mobile sport and recreational equipment; - promotion and publicity. The Project Promoter is the Self Government of Wejhorowo County. The Project shall be implemented in partnership with ten secondary schools managed by the Project Promoter. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Project Promoter provides at least 15 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
