The purpose of the Project is to increase the competences of the employees of the National Centre of Pathology in new methods of diagnostic of cancer related diseases and to implement new analysis methods, with the overall objective of improving diagnostics of breast, cervical and colorectal cancer in Lithuania. Reference is made to the application dating 3 August 2007, and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed project shall include the following activities and results: - purchase of laboratory equipment and materials; - purchase and installation of audiovisual equipment; - implementation of new diagnostic methodologies; - training of employees of the National Pathology Centre at Oslo University; - conferences and training seminars for medical professionals; - management and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is the National Centre of Pathology. Subject to national law, the Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Norwegian partner Oslo University. The Focal Point shall ensure that the Lithuanian State budget provides at least 15 percent and the Project Promoter 5.20 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
