The preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the thousand year old Episcopate of Pécs

The purpose of the Project is to improve the touristic appeal of the city of Pécs through renovation of the Basilica of Pécs and the Dom Square buildings Prebendal Archives and Palace of Episcopate, with the overall objective of protecting and promoting cultural heritage. Reference is made to the application dated 8 December 2007 and to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Renovation of the four façades of the Pécs Basilica; - Renovation of three façades of the Prebendal Archives; - Renovating the eastern and western façades of the Palace of Episcopate and; - Project management, public procurement and publicity activities. The Project Promoter is Pecsi Egyhazmegye (the Diocese of Pécs). The Focal Point shall ensure that the Baranya County Local Government shall provide at least 15.14 percent of the estimated eligible Project cost.
