The purpose of the Project is to develop a national integrated biodiversity database accessible to the public, with the overall objective of aiming at reduction of biodiversity loss in Estonia. Reference is made to the application dated 2 May 2007 and subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point dated 25 July 2007, 27 July 2007, 8 August 2007, 23 August 2007, 12 October 2007 and 18 October 2007. The completed Project shall include the following activities and results: - Database structure developed and operational; - Biodiversity data input enabled and quality assessment assured; - Biodiversity data publicly available through web site development, public access to database and promotion of the database in the printed media. The Project Promoter is the University of Tartu. The Project shall be implemented in partnership with the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the Estonian Environment Information Centre and the Estonian Naturalists' Society. The Focal Point shall ensure that the University of Tartu provides at least 9,36 % of the estimated eligible Project cost; the Estonian University of Life Sciences provides at least 5,55 % of the estimated eligible Project cost and the Estonian Environment Information Centre provides at least 1,85 % of the estimated eligible Project cost.
